Dental care and health check up awareness program

Dental check-up camp In honor of Rotary Youth Month, the Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon Believers organized a dental check-up camp on May 29 with the help of Dr. Pushpanjali Singh. Madam Alka Thapa also raised awareness of health and hygiene at the children's midday meal school in Sukantapally, Siliguri. Dr. Pushpanjali Singh examined about fifty adults and children. Additionally, she administered medication to patients. Over seventy kids received health kits and snacks. With plants and a tea hamper, we all paid tribute to both the doctor and the nurse. In the presence of AG Rtn. Kiran Kayan, President Rtn. Rosy Prasad, Past President Rtn. Monica Prasad, IPP Rtn. Anita Mittal, and Rtn. Seema Prasad, the program was expertly planned by Secretary Rtn. Anju Sarda and Rtn. Neha Agarwal. We are grateful to Asst. Governor Rtn. Kiran Kayan for sponsoring gifts and health kits, as well as to Dr. Pushpanjali for checking and administering medication.

On 21st May, approximately 250 individuals in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, were served refreshing rose shakes by RC Siliguri Uttorayon Believers to provide relief from the intense summer heat. The initiative was meticulously organized by Rtn. Gopal Kayan and generously sponsored by his family in the presence of AG Rtn. Kiran Kayan. As Believers, we remain committed to contributing positively to society and extending support to those in need whenever possible. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, focusing on self-health and wellness, the Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon Believers celebrated with an energetic and fun-filled Zumba session at Uplift Sports Arena, Siliguri. The entire program was beautifully organized by our member Rtn. Anuradha Agarwal at her Uplift Sports Arena. The session was conducted by renowned choreographer and Zumba instructor Farhan Alam, who not only led an energetic Zumba workout but also shared valuable insights about Zumba, fitness, and healthy living with the members. Rotary Environment Day Celebration – Plantation Drive: On 30th April, we celebrated Rotary Environment Month with a meaningful plantation drive at Ekam Resort in Rohini. To actively promote environmental sustainability, our dedicated members enthusiastically planted over fifty diverse saplings—including Arjun, Neem, Gulmohar, Mango, Chickoo, Guava, Litchi, and Custard Apple—symbolizing our collective hope for a much greener future. All of these saplings were very generously sponsored by our esteemed Assistant Governor, Rtn. Kiran Kayan. She also added a truly special touch to the event by graciously gifting indoor plants and chocolates to all participants in honor of Earth Day. RC of Siliguri Uttorayon has actively collected a significant amount of e-waste and ensured its safe disposal through J S Pigments Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata, Eastern India’s first recycler. This initiative shows how small, consistent efforts can create a big impact on sustainability. We sincerely thank our Charter President, Rtn. Empowering Minds through Awareness

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon Believers along with several other organisations collaborated and conducted a free charity screening of the film Kerala Story 2. The event was organised to create awareness among society, especially our youth. The main motto of this film screening was to spread awareness and encourage everyone to stay alert in today’s times. The program received an overwhelming response and was a houseful show with around 300 attendees. A total of 24 members of the club were present to support the initiative. On 28th February 2026, Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon Believers celebrated its 5th Charter Night cum Pre Women’s Day at LOD Restaurant, located at Vega Circle Mall, Siliguri. The theme of the evening was “Evil Eye – Nazar Na Lage Humare Club Ko”, symbolizing protection, positivity, and continued success for our beloved club. Our Charter President felicitated the Charter Executive Team, Past President, Past Secretary, and all members with thoughtful evil eye-themed gifts.We also honoured the restaurant staff with sweets and evil eye gift hampers as a token of appreciation. The Rotary Club of Uttorayon Believers held an E-Waste Collection Drive in February as part of our ongoing project to collect electronic waste in order to promote responsible disposal of electronic waste .In the presence of Secretary Rtn. Anju Sarda, the program was expertly run by our charter president and this year 25-26 AG Rtn. Kiran Kayan. This time, we gathered a sizable amount of e-waste from the refrigerator, washing machine, and heater etc.The collected e-waste was sent to our AG Rtn.Kiran Kayan warehouse, from which we obtain green certificates every year by sending it to an e-waste licensing company. Rtn Kiran Kayan will oversee this project on a regular basis. We are proud to have continued it for the past four years.

On November 12, 2025, on the occasion of Kaal Bhairav Ashtami, the Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon Believers visited a dog shelter home in Dagapur, Siliguri, to spread love and happiness among the four-legged beings under our permanent care. We fed over 100 dogs nutritious meals throughout the day. On 8th November 2025, Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon Believers, celebrated per - children’s Day at our permanent literacy centre, Shantiniketan, Ghoshkupur in presence of District governor and Assistant Governor. We distributed Rotary our club name branding jackets to around 30 students. Additionally, gifts were given to all the children and teachers by hand District Governor Rtn. On the occasion of Janmashtami, Rotary Uttorayon Of Believers Club organized a joyful Sit & Draw Competition for the kids at Shantiniketan at Ghoshpukur. On 30th July 2025, Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttorayon Believers visited the dog shelter in Dagapur, Siliguri—renovated and built by our club in 2020-21. This is one of our permanent projects dedicated to animal welfare. Continuing our monthly commitment, AG Rtn. Kiran Kayan, President Rtn. Rosy Prasad, Secretary Rtn. Anju Sarda, Rtn. On 7th July 2025, our club observed Breastfeeding Awareness Day to champion one of the most natural and essential aspects of motherhood. Through talks and open conversations, we educated new and expecting mothers on breastfeeding’s benefits—ideal infant nutrition, stronger immunity, deeper bonding—and its positive impact on maternal health. As part of our community support effort, we also organized a food distribution drive for 20 women, providing essentials such as atta, suji, milk, sugar, soybean, masoor dal, oil, kala jeera, and rice. To promote environmental responsibility, all items were packed in reusable, club-branded carry bags—another step toward saying no to plastic. The activity brought smiles and reinforced our commitment to health, compassion, and sustainability. Special thanks to Project Chairperson Rtn Nirmala Agarwal and the leadership team, whose presence and support made the program meaningful. Together, we continue to serve with heart and purpose.
